Used Boats

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

  • Are all of these boats for sale? Some boats are in for service. The best way to keep up on our current inventory is through our website.
  • Do you finance? We offer assistance with finance, we recommended Harris Marine financing (410-643-7097) ask for Robin. We do not offer in-house financing.
  • Do you take trades? Yes we do. But we would need to see pictures that are current, along with an accurate description of the boat. These can be sent to our email address at info@mmboats.com
  • Do you offer warranties? No, we do not offer warranties. We put every boat in the water and take you for an “in water” sea trial before your final purchase. You may also bring a certified marine mechanic (no auto mechanics please) and have the motor check out by them on your behalf. You may also have the boat surveyed as well. Remember ALL BOATS BREAKDOWN
  • Do you inspect boat trailers? NO WE DO NOT. We also do not issue trailer tags. We will give you a free and clear trailer title, however we do not sell our used trailers - they are given to you for FREE if you want it. The trailers are in very nice shape but will always need work in order to pass the very strict Maryland inspection requirements. Even a one year old trailer!
  • Does everything work on the boat? All major components will be functioning at time of delivery. Small items such as a horn or a light in the cabin may not function - if the horn does not toot we will give you an air horn that works all the time…

Purchase Policy Questions

  • What do you need as a deposit? We require a 5 percent deposit on the boat in order to put it on hold. This is only a sign of good faith from you that you’re proceeding with the purchase.
  • Is my deposit refundable? Yes 100%. With 30 years of selling boats, we have NEVER kept a deposit.
  • How long is my deposit good for? This is tricky because we sell boats for less - and have limited space for our boats. As such, we must close on a boat within 5 business days. There are some exceptions to this policy.
  • If I buy the boat but cannot take delivery that quickly, can you keep it there for us? As long as the boat is paid for in full, we can move the boat to an overflow facility for as long as you need. There is a weekly fee of $25 that goes directly to the Marina (overflow facility) where we take your boat.
  • When will I actually get to put the boat in the water and do a sea trial? Every one of our boats comes with an “in water” sea trial for the buyer. After a successful sea trial, we then go back to M&M Boat Sales to complete the paperwork and payment of any balance due.
  • Can I write a personal check? Yes you may, but we will not release the boat until the check clears the bank.
  • Do you accept credit cards for payment? No we do not have credit card process capability
